Management change

Stefanie Brandes returns as head of club operator Aldiana

German club operator Aldiana has poached two managers from rival Robinson as a new management duo following its return to the Thomas Cook ‘family’.

June 12, 2018

Stefanie Brandes and Patrick Brändle will take over management of the hotel resort company, tasked with freshening up its positioning under joint owners LMEY, a Swiss-based property company, and Thomas Cook, which bought a 42% stake in its former subsidiary last autumn and now markets its properties as part of its hotel portfolio.

The two managers will both come from Robinson, TUI’s club operator brand. Brandes is currently Robinson’s sales & marketing manager, while Brändle managed the Alpenrose in Zürs, Switzerland, and earlier the Club Soma Bay in Egypt.

Brandes will be responsible for sales & marketing, yield and pricing at Aldiana from November onwards. The move marks a return to Oberursel as she was already sales & marketing manager for the company between 2010 and 2015. She had previously worked for Thomas Cook in various sales and marketing positions.

Brändle, who joins in July, will be responsible for operations, quality and innovation. The duo will take over from Max-Peter Droll who managed the company for three years and succeeded in bringing it back to profit after years of losses.

Aldiana is operating eight resorts this summer and will expand its portfolio with two new clubs in the Dominican Republic and Austria in winter 2018/19. Two more properties are due to open in 2019.
