Fuerteventura beat Tenerife and Gran Canaria for the most popular Spanish hotel for German holidaymakers in the latest fvw Hotelometer ranking.
The SBH Jandia Resort on Fuerteventura came first in the fortnight from October 17 - 30, boosted by strong interest from couples and singles, after being placed fourth two weeks previously in the demand-based hotel ranking. The previous number one, the Las Aguilas in Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife, dropped back to third, behind the Lopesan Costa Meloneras on Gran Canaria.
In Greece, there were few changes in the overall ranking. The Mitsis Rinela Beach remained top of the ranking, ahead of the Lindos Princess Beach and the Lyttos Beach. However, the Anissa Beach & Village in Anissaras, Crete, jumped into the overall top ten in seventh place, largely on the fact of being the most popular hotel in the couples’ ranking.
In Turkey, the Royal Dragon in Kumköy again defended top place but from two new challengers. The Side Crown Palace entered the top ten in second place, while the Miracle Resort in Lara moved up one place to third.
The fvw Hotelometer is a fortnightly ranking of the most popular tourist hotels in Turkey, Spain and Greece, showing customer enquiries but not actual bookings. It is based on all enquiries in the Traveltainmentreservations system used by German travel agents and online booking engines. The data, supplied by IT company TrevoTrend, is split into different categories (overall, families, couples, singles and star ratings).
